ABOUT ME

Alban Sarens (b. 1989) is a saxophonist, pianist, and composer from Antwerp. His music transcends genres, always seeking sincerity, nuance, and sound with soul. As a core member of projects with Stef Kamil Carlens, Guido Belcanto, and Ellen Schoenaerts, and as a highly sought-after studio musician, he is steadily building a versatile artistic path. His playing is intuitive, layered, and compelling—a search for beauty, imagination, and the unspeakable.

His solo project ALBAN was born out of of a raw and reflective process that he turned into sound, shaped by grief and personal transformation. During three intense years, Alban made music to make sense of what words couldn’t express. The instrument became his voice, exploring deep emotions through melodies that carry both sorrow and light. It’s music born from absence, yet reaching toward renewal. This is not music that demands attention - it offers presence. It invites stillness, reflection and a feeling of connection.

There’s always more, but let’s keep it simple for now. Contact me for inquiries.
