ABOUT THE ALBUM

ALBAN is the solo project of musician Alban Sarens. His debut album, ‘To Break Your Heart’, arrives on February 12, 2026 and is  the result of a raw and reflective process turned into sound, shaped by grief and personal transformation. During three intense years, Alban turned to his saxophone to make sense of what words couldn’t express. A musical reflection of mourning, sorrow, and the search for what love truly means. The instrument became his voice, expressing his emotions and thoughts through melodies that carry both sorrow and light. It is music born from absence, yet reaching towards a warm embrace telling you, ‘It’s ok, I’m here’.

To Break Your Heart’ is not about despair, but about what can emerge from it. It’s a soundscape where grief deepens into growth and where music guides the way. ‘There’s only the path we took.’

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alban Sarens grew up on the southern edge of Antwerp and, after many wanderings, returned to the place where it all began. Following the suicide of the mother of his two daughters, he radically changed course. He left his demanding job as artistic coordinator at Trix to fully dedicate himself to music once again. That decision led to his debut album ‘To Break Your Heart’ — a musical reflection of three intense years of mourning, sorrow, and the search for what love truly means.

Throughout these years, Alban returned to his core as a musician in an attempt to grasp what words could not express. His saxophone became his voice — translating emotions and thoughts into compositions that carry both sorrow and light. The result is music that doesn’t demand attention but instead creates space: for stillness, for reflection, for connection. Alban crafts a sonic landscape where grief transforms into growth, where silence holds as much meaning as sound, and where music gently points the way toward comfort.

His music transcends genres, always seeking sincerity, nuance, and sound with soul. His playing is intuitive, layered, and comforting. While Alban has often been the driving force or sidekick in many projects such as Sir Yes Sir, Ellen Schoenaerts and Stef Kamil Carlens, he now finds the strength to tell a story under his own name, a story of connection and solace. ‘To Break Your Heart’ will be released in February 2026. The first single is expected to be released on August 29, 2025.
